Copper Plate Earthings
3E solutions supply the complete range of Copper Earthing Plates that are also used as a conventional earthing solution. We install Copper earthing plate installation as per IS:3043 in a 3 Feet Long x 3 Feet Wide x10 Deep earth hole with alternate layers of Salt and Charcoal. The salt helps to reduce the earthing resistance by creating an electrolytic environment surrounding earthing plate but over the time leach out deeper in the earth and need salt and water at more frequent intervals. Since salt also corrode the earthing plate and terminal strip that connect the copper plate with equipment and reduce the dependability, generally, chemical earthings are preferred.
Earthing Copper Plate Size: As per Copper earthing Plate Design, Plates are available in 600mm x 600m ( 2 Feet x 2 Feet ) and 300mm x 300mm ( 1 Feet x 1 Feet ) dimensions with 3mm thickness or as per requirements. Earthing Plate is fixed with copper strip and GI Pipe. After digging 3 feet x 3 feet 10 feet hole, the earthing plate is inserted in and salt and charcoal added in alternate layers upto the level of the plate. Funnel / Wire mesh is used to avoid soil in water pipe. The natural soil or 3E make backfill compound mixed with good quality ( pref black cotton soil) to backfill till the top and a chamber is installed to measure the earthing resistance values once a year. After testing the earthing, the earthing is connected to the equipment through a test link. The test link is used to disconnect earthing with interconnection to equipotential bonding while testing of the earthings.
